Welcome to The Digestible Book Club!  For our first meeting we have two excellent reading options.

Gulp: Adventures of the Alimentary Canal by Mary Roach is a wild ride down the digestive track. Mary Roach choose unique topics and dive deep to teach us more about them.  Other books she has written cover cadavers, sex and space.
Take a look at her website: http://www.maryroach.net/gulp.html

The End of Overeating: Taking Control of the Insatiable American Appetite by Dr. David Kessler is an in depth look at what drives us to eat, and eat and eat.  This books discusses brain chemistry and the twists and turns of food manufacturers power over our dietary habits.
Take a look at NYTimes commentary about his book: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/23/health/23well.html?_r=0

Our first meeting will be October 9 from 4pm to 6pm in Burk Hall room 302 with pot luck style snacks.  To sign up please visit the Digestible Book Club tab. Space is limited! The final book decision will be made in September and posted on the blog as well as emailed to you.
